Mike Bitter is a featured writer for Constant Contact and has been published in the Omaha Lifestyles Magazine. He speaks at numerous events throughout the year; both locally and nationally including the Strategic Management Institute in Washington, D.C., the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and the College of Saint Mary’s in Omaha. With over eight years’ experience in the social media marketing industry, Mike has been there, done that, and is now eager to share what he’s learned with the rest of the world.
As a teacher in his seminars, Mike is passionate and entertaining while demonstrating the ins-and-outs of how to integrate LinkedIn, Facebook, Email and Social Media Marketing into business owners’ and entrepreneurs’ marketing campaigns. As a marketer, he provides real world examples and tools that attendees can use immediately to market both themselves and their business. He hosts a number of webinars throughout the year in order to keep everyone up-to-date on the ever-changing social media environment. And as a trainer, Mike walks you through the finer points of getting your business on the Digital Superhighway to bring in more prospects, customers, donations and volunteers.
Until 2006, Mike was a project manager and held several corporate positions at nationally known companies like the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Northrop Grumman and Lincoln Financial. His efforts with these companies made it possible to bring hundreds of thousands of dollars in information technology projects to life. He was also the Project Management Institute’s President for two years, and Past President for an additional two years.
Mike teaches a Marketing Yourself Through Social Media series to help transitioning military people find employment. He also teaches the marketing module of the Small Business Administration’s Boots to Business program. In addition to Mike’s speaking engagements with the Small Business Administration, he also works with SCORE and Catholic Charities Micro Business Program to help small businesses get started and grow already established businesses.

That’s why Mike will also cover how to find and utilize Facebook analytics and discuss the secrets in identifying the effect of your Facebook marketing efforts.
“Email Marketing: The Business Owner’s Pot of Gold”
Email Marketing is a great way to promote your business to both prospects and clients alike. With the increase in popularity due to its effectiveness, low cost and market penetration, Email Marketing is the most reasonably priced marketing avenue for most businesses. Mike has performed years of research, testing and retesting, and has now found the secret to what works and what doesn’t. The Email Marketing principals he’ll share with you during this presentation are tried and true…and they work! Mike has discovered efficiencies and “keys” that are well hidden amongst email marketers, but that’s all going to change as he teaches you the “do’s” and “don’ts” of a successful campaign, effective ways to get your emails opened and how to “read” your audience through email analytics. Learn how to work less and earn more by allowing an email service provider to simplify your life!
“We’ve worked with Mike Bitter and Affordable Social Media, Inc. for more than a year. Compliance in our industry is challenging. Affordable Social Media, Inc. was able to rise to each new compliance challenge and provide the best social media management services possible. When we were required to use a social media management tool for our industry, Mike at Affordable Social Media, Inc. rose to the challenge, learned our social media management tool, and integrated it into the services they provided for us at no additional cost. We are impressed by Mike’s professionalism, attention to detail, customer service and quick reaction time when faced with challenges inherent to the financial services industry. They take time to understand the client’s industry, the client’s needs, and provide a Social Media Marketing Strategy based upon the best interest of the client.”

“I want to pass on to you that due to your efforts the positive reputation of this course has been growing among the troops. When I participated in a transition assistance program employer panel last Friday, I really didn’t have to do much “selling” to get people interested in the entrepreneurship track. While other Boots 2 Business courses around the country have had problems with attendance – people often skip out over lunch on the first day, I understand, a problem we have never had – the Airman & Family Readiness Center tells me that people are enthusiastic to sign up, even if they’re not even thinking about starting a business soon, just because they’ve heard that it’s a great two-day experience.”
